Education Secretary Sonny Angara called for a collaborative effort between the government and the Church to reform the country’s education system.
Speaking at a leadership course in Tagaytay City hosted by Caritas Philippines, Angara emphasized that education should be a shared mission between the government, Church, private institutions, and civil society.
He acknowledged various Church-led educational initiatives, including community schools, technical-vocational training, and alternative learning systems.
Angara stressed that education reform cannot be the responsibility of the government alone.
The Department of Education has already outlined a five-point reform agenda focused on creating a conducive learning environment, improving teacher welfare, prioritizing learner well-being, enhancing learning delivery, and preparing a future-ready workforce.
