Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co expressed surprise and dismay after Baguio Mayor Benjamin Magalong linked him to controversial flood control projects without citing specific wrongdoing.
Co strongly denied any involvement and said he will respond formally once the allegations are clarified.
He also questioned the fairness of the planned investigation, especially if Magalong is part of the panel.
The flood control project controversy has drawn calls from lawmakers and officials for a full probe into alleged irregularities.
Co described the allegations as politically motivated and unsubstantiated.
