Miss Universe 2025 third runner-up Ahtisa Manalo returned to a hero’s welcome at Ninoy Aquino International Airport early Tuesday, greeted by a large crowd of supporters.
Manalo thanked fans for their support and emphasized accepting the competition results, declining the Miss Universe Organization’s offer to promote her to “Miss Universe Asia.”
The pageant, held in Bangkok, has faced controversy over alleged irregularities, with chants of “cooking show” erupting during the finals and judge resignations being claimed but disputed by MUO President Raul Rocha.
Meanwhile, Côte d’Ivoire’s Olivia Yacé stepped down as Miss Universe Africa & Oceania, returning her sash to focus on her personal values and advocacy for youth.
Despite the disputes, Manalo expressed gratitude for her experience and committed to fulfilling her existing duties while honoring her supporters.
