AFTER THREE YEARS, KIDAPAWAN FAMILY FINALLY GETS BALIKBAYAN BOXES FROM KUWAIT

A family in Kidapawan City was surprised and relieved to finally receive two balikbayan boxes sent from Kuwait nearly three years ago.

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), led by Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac, facilitated the delivery of these boxes along with others for two more families in the city.

The balikbayan boxes represent the hard work and sacrifice of overseas Filipino workers, and their safe arrival restores the dignity of recipient families.

The delay was caused by miscommunication between courier services and agencies, as well as scams, which have been common problems for balikbayan shipments.

The DMW, Bureau of Customs, and other agencies recently signed agreements to address these issues and ensure the timely and secure delivery of balikbayan boxes moving forward.
