AFP COMBATS ONLINE MISINFORMATION REGARDING THE WEST PHILIPPINE SEA

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) launched a Communication Plan (COMPLAN) Mulat to combat disinformation about the West Philippine Sea and counter China’s deceptive narratives.

AFP Chief Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. announced the initiative aimed at enhancing transparency and public awareness of the Philippines’ rights.

The AFP is alerting the public about pro-China fake news, including manipulated photos and videos, while urging calm amidst claims of potential Chinese missile targets.

In response to these threats, the AFP is planning to strengthen its facilities and acquire more advanced fighter jets.

Meanwhile, the Chinese Coast Guard’s “Monster Ship” continues to shadow the BRP Teresa Magbanua near Escoda Shoal, highlighting ongoing tensions in the region.
