Antipolo City Rep. Romeo Acop has criticized Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa as a “real opportunist” and a “lapdog” of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
This rebuke came after Dela Rosa accused some lawmakers of being “unprincipled and opportunistic” regarding the previous administration’s anti-drug war.
Acop, a former PNP general, argued that Dela Rosa exploited his connection with Duterte to advance his career while protecting influential figures.
He challenged Dela Rosa to be specific about his accusations and emphasized that his focus is on uncovering the truth and ensuring accountability.
Acop, who chairs multiple House committees investigating links between POGOs, the drug trade, and extrajudicial killings, urged Dela Rosa to prioritize the public’s interests over political games.
