Three in five Filipino mobile users want reliable 5G connectivity wherever they go, while 36 percent are willing to pay extra for better network service, according to a survey by Swedish telecommunications company Ericsson.
The survey found that 60 percent of Filipino mobile users identified situations in which they need guaranteed 5G connectivity.
Ericsson said 36 percent of respondents are willing to pay a premium for improved service quality, creating opportunities for telecommunications companies to offer performance-based plans.
The company also projected that AI usage on smartphones among Filipinos could double from 16 percent to 32 percent by 2030, increasing demand for faster and more responsive networks.
The survey covered around 1,500 respondents in the Philippines, including 900 active 5G users, as part of a broader study involving more than 43,000 users across 27 markets.
