The first group of 26 Filipinos seeking repatriation from Israel will travel via Jordan’s land route and are expected to arrive in the Philippines this weekend.
This group is part of the 150 Filipinos who requested to return amid ongoing missile exchanges between Israel and Iran.
The repatriation is complicated by Israel’s closed airspace due to the conflict, forcing evacuees to cross into Jordan before flying home.
It remains unclear if the group includes 17 government officials trapped in Israel during the outbreak of hostilities.
The Philippine government has not ordered a mandatory evacuation but continues to advise against non-essential travel and offers voluntary repatriation assistance through the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration.
