President Marcos has ordered a probe into flood control projects worth P545 billion, revealing that 15 contractors received 20% of the funds while over 6,000 projects lacked detailed descriptions of their work.
Marcos described some findings as “disturbing” and stressed that no one will be spared, including his allies, if corruption or wrongdoing is proven.
He also noted inconsistencies such as identical contract costs across multiple projects and a mismatch between flood-prone areas and the locations of projects.
To encourage public involvement, Marcos launched an online portal, sumbongsapangulo.ph, for citizens to report issues on flood control efforts.
Meanwhile, Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto vowed legal action against contractors allegedly involved in corruption, while Senate leaders denied any involvement of senators in the controversy.
