A youth party-list group, Kabataan, is investigating sexual assault allegations against one of its members, who is now under preventive suspension.
The victim reported being sexually abused in a shared living space lacking proper safeguards, criticizing the group’s slow response and inadequate support.
Kabataan acknowledged gaps in their internal processes and expressed commitment to improving victim support and accountability.
The victim has lost trust in the organization and is considering a legal investigation, while Kabataan pledges full support if she pursues charges.
The group called for sensitivity in handling the issue and reaffirmed its dedication to combating gender-based violence within youth organizations.
