Vice President Sara Duterte declined to comment on the impeachment complaint filed against President Marcos Jr., but said she expects a complaint against her once the constitutional one-year ban lifts on February 6.
She described potential new complaints as “fundraising schemes” by House members, recalling past attempts to impeach her over alleged misuse of confidential funds.
The upcoming complaints are linked to irregularities in the OVP and DepEd confidential funds, where audits revealed millions disbursed to fictitious or nonexistent recipients.
Duterte, now in The Hague visiting her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, emphasized she would only answer to the Commission on Audit regarding the disputed funds.
Progressive groups and lawmakers, including Rep. Jett Nisay, are reportedly preparing to refile charges, which could include allegations of corruption, misuse of funds, and other violations.
