Vice President Sara Duterte endorsed Senator Imee Marcos for the Senate in a 30-second political ad released on Monday, urging voters to support her.
This follows Marcos’ withdrawal from the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas (APBP) senatorial slate last month, signaling a rift with her brother, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
In the ad, Duterte highlighted the challenges facing the country, including hunger and crime, while Marcos emphasized the need for justice and unity.
Meanwhile, the Palace reassured that the APBP senatorial lineup remains intact, with Rep. Camille Villar now also gaining Duterte’s backing.
Despite these developments, APBP campaign manager Rep. Toby Tiangco affirmed the coalition’s unity and continued public support.
