The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced progress in its efforts to extradite suspended Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo Teves Jr., who faces multiple criminal charges, including his alleged role in high-profile killings.
DOJ Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla confirmed that authorities are finalizing documents needed for the formal extradition request to Teves’ current location, widely reported to be in Timor-Leste.
Teves has denied the allegations but remains under scrutiny after being tagged as the mastermind in the murder of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo.
Remulla emphasized that the DOJ is determined to bring Teves back to the Philippines to face justice. The case has drawn significant public attention due to its political and legal implications.
