The Department of Tourism (DOT) has appointed South Korean actor and singer Seo In-guk as its new tourism ambassador for the Philippines.
The 37-year-old celebrity was officially granted the title during an event at the DOT office in Makati on February 21.
Seo’s role, lasting for one year, aims to promote the Philippines as a travel destination for South Korean tourists, leveraging his popularity and 4.5 million Instagram followers.
The DOT plans to use Seo’s influence to appeal to global travelers who are passionate about music, film, and adventure, with the actor showcasing various Philippine experiences.
Seo is currently in Cebu filming a new Netflix drama, “Boyfriend on Demand,” and expressed his appreciation for Filipino culture, promising to give back the love he’s received from his Filipino fans.
