SOLICITOR GENERAL REVIEWS PROPERTIES LINKED TO CHINESE NATIONALS

The Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) has started reviewing documents provided by the House Quad Committee for potential legal actions against Chinese nationals accused of illegally acquiring property in the Philippines.

Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra said the OSG will gather additional evidence and may pursue legal actions such as civil forfeiture, reversion, deportation, and criminal complaints.

The documents relate to land acquisitions by Chinese nationals, which allegedly violated the Philippine Constitution’s ban on foreign land ownership.

Key figures in the case include Chinese nationals Aedi Tai Yang and Willie Ong, both accused of using fake documents to bypass ownership laws.

Lawmakers warned that failure to address these violations could have serious consequences for national security and the economy.
