Imee Marcos criticized the Department of Energy for adopting a two-day onsite workweek amid the ongoing fuel crisis, calling the policy inconsistent with government directives and harmful to operations.
The DOE implemented a hybrid setup to conserve energy, reducing in-office reporting while maintaining services online.
Energy Secretary Sharon Garin defended the arrangement, saying productivity has improved and operations remain uninterrupted despite remote work.
Marcos, however, argued that the setup creates delays in processing permits and contracts due to the limited physical presence of officials.
She urged the agency to revoke the policy and comply with the administration’s four-day onsite work requirement.
