Senator Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri announced that he and his entire staff will undergo random drug testing on Monday to address allegations of marijuana use within the Senate.
He emphasized that anyone testing positive would face due process, including possible preventive suspension and opportunities for rehabilitation before returning to work.
Zubiri also encouraged other senators and their teams to participate in drug testing to uphold the Senate’s integrity.
He expressed willingness to undergo more rigorous tests, such as hair follicle analysis, to clear doubts.
The move follows reports of alleged marijuana use by a Senate staff member, which the accused denied, clarifying she only possessed a vape.
