Incoming Davao City Vice Mayor Sebastian Duterte expressed cool sentiments toward Sen. Imee Marcos, dismissing her claim that she could bring his father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, home from ICC detention.
Sebastian clarified that while he can be cordial with Marcos, they disagree politically, and her recent visit to The Hague was merely symbolic.
He added that his father had lost weight in detention but remained hopeful that the charges against him would eventually be dropped.
Meanwhile, new PNP chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III, who oversaw Duterte’s arrest, assured critics of the Marcos administration that they have nothing to fear as long as they follow the law.
Torre emphasized that public service and law enforcement under the “Bagong Pilipinas” agenda would remain nonpartisan and focused on citizen safety.
