Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx) will raise toll fees to recover costs from infrastructure upgrades. Class 1 vehicles will pay an additional ₱0.64 per kilometer, Class 2 vehicles ₱1.29, and Class 3 vehicles ₱1.93, equating to increases of ₱25, ₱50, and ₱75, respectively, for the Mabalacat-Tarlac route. Upgrades include improved signage, toll plazas, and maintenance projects, funded partly by a ₱10-billion loan from China Bank. The Candaba 3rd Viaduct project, now 95% complete, is set to open by Christmas. The toll hike aims to ensure better services and sustainability.
