Former president Rodrigo Duterte is negatively impacting his daughter Vice President Sara Duterte’s approval ratings, according to political analyst Malou Tiquia.
Tiquia, founder and CEO of Publicus Asia, noted that recent survey results showed Sara’s approval rating declined due to issues involving her father.
These include her inclusion in the International Criminal Court case, Duterte’s accusations against President Marcos Jr., and a congressional investigation on a South China Sea agreement.
Despite this, 66% of respondents opposed Sara’s resignation as Department of Education secretary.
Tiquia believes Sara’s approval ratings may stabilize now that she has resigned from her DepEd role, with her future political plans still uncertain.
