RONDINA AND PONS WIN FIRST GAME IN WORLD VOLLEYBALL BPT FUTURES NUVALI

Filipino beach volleyball pair Sisi Rondina and Bernadeth Pons secured their first win at the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour (BPT) Futures in Nuvali, defeating compatriots Khylem Progella and Sofia Pagara, 21-17, 18-21, 15-12.

The duo, who fought through the intense heat, expressed their dedication to the sport, with Pons emphasizing their commitment to training for redemption at the SEA Games. 
Rondina and Pons previously earned bronze medals at the 2019 and 2022 Southeast Asian Games and are focused on continuing their beach volleyball journey.

In other matches, Filipino pair Honey Grace Cordero and Kat Epa lost to Lithuania’s Ieva Dumbauskaite and Gerda Gruzsinskaite but triumphed over Australia and Japan in the qualifiers.

In the men’s draw, James Buytrago and Rancel Varga were defeated by Israel’s Tamir Hershko and River Day. At the same time, Lerry John Francisco and Edwin Tolentino fell to Czechia’s Tomas Semerad and Adam Miroslav Stocek.
