The Saulog Festival in Tagbilaran City turned into both a cultural celebration and a political stage Sunday night, with senatorial aspirants Willie Revillame and Rep. Camille Villar making appearances.
Revillame, a popular TV host, entertained the crowd, handed out thousands of jackets, and promised a P1-million cash prize and future projects if elected in 2025.
Election prohibitions prevented him from giving the cash prize on the spot, but he vowed to fulfill his promises after the polls.
Villar, meanwhile, praised the barangay performances, noting the festival’s improvement from the previous year.
The event concluded with Barangay Ubujan (Tribu Ubujanon) winning the Ritual Showdown, while Barangay Poblacion 2 (Tribu Dos Haguros) topped the Street Dancing competition.
