Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte emerged as the top-performing mayor in the National Capital Region (NCR) in a recent survey conducted by the RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD) evaluating the leadership efficacy of city mayors within the region.
The survey, conducted between September 20-30, 2023, provided enlightening insights into the performance of NCR mayors. Mayor Belmonte secured an impressive performance score of 94.0%, placing her at the forefront alongside Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval, who scored 93.1%.
The study also highlighted the exceptional leadership talent pool in the NCR, with four mayors sharing the second spot. Navotas City’s John Rey Tiangco led the pack with a score of 92.7%, followed closely by Along Malapitan of Caloocan City (92.5%), Eric Olivarez of Parañaque City (92.3%), and Emi Calixto-Rubiano of Pasay City (92.1%).
The third echelon showcased the dynamic trio of Vico Sotto of Pasay City (90.4%), Honey Lacuna of Manila (89.7%), and Makati City’s Abi Binay (89.5%), further exemplifying the depth of dedicated leadership in the region.
The survey evaluated the mayors based on seven pivotal criteria: service delivery, financial acumen, economic progress, leadership governance, environmental conservation, social initiatives, and engagement with constituents.
The “Top Performing NCR Mayors” segment holds a crucial position within the national “RPMD’s Boses ng Bayan” poll. By engaging with 10,000 randomly chosen registered voters across various cities, the foundation employed a meticulous methodology to ensure the reliability and precision of the results.
