PMA CADET WHO REQUESTED WATCH FROM MARCOS RECEIVES REPRIMAND

A Philippine Military Academy (PMA) cadet who asked President Marcos for his watch during the May graduation rites has been reprimanded, according to the Armed Forces of the Philippines spokesperson Col. Francel Margareth Padilla.

She clarified that it is not a PMA tradition for graduates to request the President’s watch, calling the incident isolated and already resolved.

The cadet was admonished for his actions before Vice President Sara Duterte’s recent comments expressing anger over the President’s refusal.

The cadet is now serving in the military, and the matter is considered closed by the PMA and AFP.

In contrast, in 2019, former President Rodrigo Duterte gave his watch to a PMA cadet during a graduation ceremony.
