The Philippines’ Sandi Menchi Abahan won the women’s Elite Open bronze medal at the Morzine Spartan Ultra World Championship in France, finishing the grueling 50-kilometer trail race with 60 obstacles in 8 hours, 44 minutes, and 22 seconds.
The race was won by France’s Leslie Lejeune, followed by Great Britain’s Andrea Berquez.
In the men’s division, Filipino Jobert Carolino and Andrico Mahilum finished 24th and 33rd, respectively.
The Spartan Ultra tests both endurance and speed, challenging athletes with a demanding course of obstacles and rugged terrain.
The Philippine Obstacle Sports Federation, backed by the Philippine Sports Commission, praised Abahan’s world-class performance as the country maintains its strong presence in Southeast Asian obstacle racing.
