The Philippines strengthened its reputation as a premier diving destination by winning the Island Charm Award at the Diving Resort and Travel Expo held in Beijing from August 8 to 10.
The Department of Tourism – Beijing and the Tourism Promotions Board led the country’s participation, showcasing top dive sites including Romblon, Ticao Island, and Camiguin.
A highlight of the expo was the Philippine Dive Night, which facilitated business matching between Chinese diving tour operators and Philippine airlines and resorts.
Philippine Ambassador to China Jaime FlorCruz emphasized the country’s commitment to sustainable tourism and marine conservation.
With China’s rapidly growing dive market, the award boosts the Philippines’ promotion as the “heart of Asia’s diving,” ahead of hosting the next expo leg in Manila this September.
