PHILIPPINE TAEKWONDO GETS DEDICATED NATIONAL TRAINING CENTER

The Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Taekwondo Association signed an agreement to construct the National Taekwondo Center within the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. 

SEA Games gold medalist Tachiana Mangin hailed the project as a dream come true and a key training hub for athletes aiming for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. 

Mangin emphasized the benefit of having a dedicated facility to train and compete with elite international fighters. 

Grand Master Hong Sung-Chon and PTA secretary-general Rocky Samson said the new center has generated excitement among the country’s taekwondo practitioners. 

The center is expected to enhance athlete preparation and strengthen the Philippines’ presence in international taekwondo competitions.
