Filipina Olympian Mary Joy Tabal will make her return to competitive running at the EVA Air Marathon in Taipei on October 26, 2025, after a long hiatus.
The 35-year-old, who is the country’s most decorated marathoner, took a break from the sport to focus on her family, making this race a significant step in her comeback.
Tabal, a Rio Olympian and six-time Milo Marathon champion, will lead a group of around 300 Filipino runners, including national and student-athletes, as Team Philippines’ ambassador.
The Philippine delegation’s participation is supported by TravelCare, which will cover the athletes’ expenses.
The EVA Air Marathon, which started in 2018, brings together participants from around the world, and its global appeal is expected to result in a successful turnout.
