President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. launched the “Pamilya Pass 1+3 Promo,” allowing three companions to ride for free with every paying passenger on Metro Manila’s MRT-3, LRT-1, and LRT-2 every Sunday starting June 1.
The initiative aims to promote family bonding by easing travel costs for Filipino families.
Marcos, joined by First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and their three sons, rode an MRT-3 train to mark the launch and encourage public participation.
He emphasized that Sundays hold cultural significance for Filipino families and should be spent together.
The President also recognized the daily challenges of commuters who often miss out on family time due to long work hours and travel.
