PBBM UNVEILS NEW SUPPORT MEASURES FOR EDUCATORS

In his third State of the Nation Address, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. pledged increased support and benefits for teachers as part of the national learning recovery program.

Starting next year, teachers will receive a teaching allowance under the Kabalikat sa Pagtuturo Act, personal accident insurance, a Special Hardship Allowance, and the removal of “utang-tagging.”

Marcos announced the implementation of an expanded career progression system to promote professional development and career advancement for teachers.

This system will ensure that no teacher retires as only a Teacher I, thereby boosting their career growth and enhancing the education sector.

Additionally, Marcos emphasized the need to enhance the education system to improve literacy, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills among students.
