President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. inspected the Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center on Tuesday to review facilities and highlight his administration’s zero-billing policy for indigent and low-income patients.
The program, also called “Bill Mo Bayad Na,” ensures PhilHealth-covered members such as indigents, seniors, sponsored members, and PWDs are discharged without paying out-of-pocket costs.
Marcos noted Bataan’s system, where patients receive their zero-billing clearance upon discharge, saying it should be adopted nationwide for added convenience.
Nearly 3,000 patients have benefited from the program in the hospital, one of three DOH-run facilities Marcos has visited in recent weeks.
He reiterated his goal of achieving universal health care, citing progress at 80 percent implementation.
