The Pasig River Urban Development project, also known as Pasig Bigyan Buhay Muli, has been named one of the recipients of the 2025 Asian Townscape Award for its excellence in sustainable urban design.
The award, co-hosted by UN-Habitat and regional organizations, recognizes the initiative’s efforts to restore the river’s ecological health and transform it into a hub for transport, commerce, tourism, and recreation.
The project envisions walkable and bike-friendly corridors, open public spaces, and stronger connectivity between communities such as Intramuros and Binondo.
Led by the Inter-Agency Council for the Pasig River Urban Development (IAC-PRUD), the program involves collaboration with local governments, civic groups, and private partners.
The award will be formally conferred in Hong Kong on November 27.
