PASIG RIVER PROJECT COMPLETION EYED BY 2027, DHSUD CHIEF REVEALS

Secretary Jose Acuzar of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) announced plans to complete the Pasig River rehabilitation by 2027, coinciding with the end of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s term.

The ambitious project aims to restore the river from Manila Bay to Laguna De Bay, with completion expected within three years.

Acuzar highlighted progress on a 500-meter segment of the 25-kilometer project. Addressing concerns about informal settlers, he noted efforts to provide housing instead of eviction, with relocation expected within two years.

This initiative aligns with President Marcos’ Executive Order No. 35, emphasizing sustainable urban development along the Pasig River for transportation, recreation, and tourism purposes.
