Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) Undersecretary Gilbert Cruz announced plans to repurpose seized Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) buildings across the country, suggesting potential uses ranging from government offices to educational facilities.
Cruz highlighted ongoing civil and criminal forfeiture cases involving at least five raided POGO hubs, including one in Pasay currently housing rescued victims under the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s care.
He emphasized the government’s efforts under Republic Act 1379 to reclaim unlawfully acquired properties and tackle the proliferation of illegal POGOs, revealing that many operate under false licenses, masking illicit activities such as scamming and harboring fugitive foreign workers.
