Cassandra Li Ong, a resource person for the Quad Committee, has petitioned the Supreme Court for a temporary restraining order (TRO) and preliminary injunction to halt Congress from compelling her to testify about her alleged connections to a raided Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) hub.
Ong claims that during a recent hearing, she faced intimidation, was separated from her lawyer, and was forced to sign a waiver under duress.
She alleges that these actions violated her rights against self-incrimination and to remain silent.
Ong also contends that the committee’s behavior, including threats and abusive treatment, was intended to pressure her into providing information.
he seeks the Supreme Court’s intervention to protect her constitutional rights and prevent further abuse.
