U.S. tech giant Nvidia announced it will resume sales of its H20 AI chips to China after receiving assurance from the U.S. government that export licenses will be granted.
The H20 chips were developed as a compliant alternative to its most powerful GPUs, which are restricted from export over U.S. national security concerns.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang confirmed the company’s readiness to ship H20s soon, calling the development “very good news” during an interview with Chinese media.
Experts say the resumed sales could boost Nvidia’s revenue and ease semiconductor supply chain tensions, though caution remains over potential future policy shifts.
Despite the resumption, Chinese firms are still pushing for chip self-sufficiency amid persistent geopolitical and trade uncertainties.
