Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) has expelled Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo amid investigations into her alleged involvement in illegal Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs) and human trafficking.
NPC Chairman Vicente Sotto III announced her removal following Tarlac Gov. Susan Yap’s request, citing charges by the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) and the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission.
Guo is accused of being part of a conspiracy to traffic about 500 foreign POGO workers and faces questions about her citizenship, with suspicions of her being a Chinese spy.
Guo is currently under preventive suspension ordered by the Ombudsman due to several administrative complaints, including graft.
The NPC emphasized its commitment to integrity and will not tolerate unlawful acts by its members.
