NO DEPORTATIONS FOR INFANTS, SAYS IMMIGRATION

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) clarified that it does not deport babies, following reports that a newborn was among 33 deportees last Thursday.

BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco stated that the bureau facilitated the smooth departure of the child after deporting the parents, waiving certain requirements to ease the process.

The baby’s mother was a worker at Smart Web Technology, which had been raided by authorities.

Additionally, the BI reported the deportation of three Vietnamese minors with stolen German passports on July 21 and another minor intercepted en route to Canada, who was later assisted and returned to Vietnam.
