A search and retrieval operation is underway for Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA) cadet Egie Pegoro, who went missing while swimming at La Paz Beach in San Narciso town on July 19.
Pegoro was with four fellow cadets during their shore leave when he was last seen.
The PMMA, along with local authorities, the Philippine Coast Guard, and other volunteers, has been actively searching for him.
An emergency command conference was held by PMMA leadership to coordinate the ongoing efforts.
The search resumed on July 21 with additional support, and Pegoro’s family has been informed of the situation.
