NEARLY 2,000 OFWS SET TO RETURN AS EVACUATION EFFORTS INTENSIFY

The Philippine government has intensified repatriation efforts for overseas Filipino workers affected by the Middle East crisis, with six flights bringing home 75 OFWs as part of a broader evacuation program.

Patricia Yvonne Caunan said nearly 2,000 OFWs are expected to return within days, while around 1,200 cases have already been funded through coordinated efforts of the Department of Migrant Workers, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, and Department of Foreign Affairs.

Repatriation operations involve transporting workers عبر land crossings to safer neighboring countries before flying them back to the Philippines via commercial or chartered flights.

Hans Leo Cacdac assured that OFWs are safely assisted throughout the process, including documentation, security checks, and transit arrangements.

The government also continues to provide post-arrival support such as financial aid, skills training, and psychosocial services to help returning workers reintegrate.
