National Capital Region’s 12-year-old swimmer Titus Rafael Sia won his fifth gold medal at the 65th Palarong Pambansa by breaking the meet record in the elementary boys’ 400-meter freestyle event.
Sia also set new records in the 200m and 100m backstroke and contributed to NCR’s victory in the 4×50 medley relay.
In the elementary girls’ division, Sophia Rose Garra dominated with five gold medals, including two new meet records.
Central Luzon’s Lance Nicolas won the secondary boys’ pole vault event, while NCR swept the mixed aerobic gymnastics category.
As of Thursday evening, NCR leads the overall medal tally with 77 golds, followed by Calabarzon and Western Visayas regions.
