In his third State of the Nation Address, President Ferdinand Marcos announced plans to deploy mobile clinics across all provinces to enhance access to basic medical services and laboratory exams.
He highlighted the establishment of over 20 Bagong Urgent Care and Ambulatory Service (BUCAS) Centers to alleviate public hospital congestion by providing ambulatory care.
The President also noted improvements in health sector funding, including increased PhilHealth coverage for generic drugs and severe illnesses.
Additionally, Marcos emphasized ongoing efforts to boost medical and allied health programs, expand school feeding programs, and address mental health issues with new initiatives and funding.
The government will continue to focus on vaccination, nutrition, and overall wellness as part of its comprehensive health strategy.
