Mike Phillips has left the San Juan Knights to pursue opportunities from overseas leagues following his strong showing with Gilas Pilipinas in the 2027 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.
The La Salle standout informed the team of his decision through a letter, thanking the organization while seeking to explore offers abroad.
Reports said the Knights were disappointed after Phillips allegedly stopped communicating with the team following his national team stint.
Although no deal has been finalized, Japan B. League Division I teams are reportedly interested in signing him.
Phillips boosted his overseas prospects after impressing with Gilas, including a six-point, 14-rebound performance against Australia.
