On Sunday, thousands of fans lined the streets in Pasay City to welcome Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Dee in her homecoming parade, celebrating her Top 10 finish at the global pageant.
Dee, waving from a flower-adorned convertible, held the Philippine and pride flags, acknowledging the support of Filipinos. She is the first Miss Universe Top 10 finisher from the country to have a dedicated homecoming parade.
The pre-parade event featured activities and videos highlighting Dee’s journey, culminating in a press conference where she met thousands of fans and press.
Dee’s success revived the Philippines’ Miss Universe powerhouse status, following Celeste Cortesi’s placement last year. She also topped the fan vote, won awards for her national costume and social impact initiatives, and received the “Spirit of Carnival” award.
