The Department of Health (DOH) announced Thursday that the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) emergency room had temporarily reached full capacity.
An investigation by PGH management found no unusual or dangerous reasons for the surge, and the situation is expected to normalize soon.
Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa assured the public that the DOH is ready to assist in transferring patients to other government hospitals.
Several alternative hospitals across Metro Manila, including East Avenue Medical Center, Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center, and the National Kidney and Transplant Institute, have been identified for patient admissions.
The DOH continues to monitor the situation and coordinate with hospitals to ensure adequate healthcare services.
