MANILA Electric Co. (Meralco) announced that it is progressing well with relocating electricity poles to accommodate key railway projects by the Department of Transportation (DoTr).
The utility has completed half of its relocation tasks for the year and will soon move an additional 367 poles to support various infrastructure initiatives.
These projects include the North-South Commuter Railway, Metro Manila Subway, and Light Rail Transit Line 1 Cavite Extension, among others.
Meralco’s Senior Vice President Ferdinand Geluz emphasized the company’s commitment to providing full support for these projects, including a new 115-kilovolt switching station planned for completion in 2026.
Despite this progress, Meralco’s shares fell slightly by 0.25 percent to P405.00 each Friday.
