controversial Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) activities after missing a session on October 8 due to filing his certificate of candidacy.
In a letter to Sen. Risa Hontiveros, Chan explained his absence and expressed his commitment to participate in future discussions.
The Senate inquiry was triggered by a raid on a suspected POGO hub in Barangay Agus, Lapu-Lapu City, on August 31.
During the previous hearing, Hontiveros emphasized the importance of Chan’s testimony for fairness and shared a letter from him detailing his scheduling conflict.
Chan is expected to address questions regarding his possible involvement in POGO operations at the upcoming hearing.
