President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. expressed openness to reconciling with the Dutertes, emphasizing the need for unity and stability following the administration’s underwhelming performance in the recent midterm polls.
In a podcast with broadcaster Anthony Taberna, Marcos said he prefers making allies over enemies and is open to working with critics for the country’s progress.
He acknowledged public frustration over slow government services and vowed to speed up key projects in health, tourism, and transportation.
Marcos also addressed the ongoing impeachment process of Vice President Sara Duterte, saying it should be handled properly by the Senate without political drama.
Meanwhile, lawmakers and opposition figures reminded the public that the impeachment trial is a constitutional process—not a “bloodbath,” as Duterte had warned.
