President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. launched three new employment programs—Trabahong-Dagat, SkillPass, and Sagip-Trabaho—to help Filipinos develop skills, find jobs, and build sustainable livelihoods.
The initiatives are part of the Department of Labor and Employment’s seven flagship innovations under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program.
Marcos said the programs aim to address barriers to employment, including limited access to job information and mismatches between workers’ skills and available jobs.
From January to August 2026, government job fairs resulted in the immediate hiring of 65,534 individuals, while more than 91% of qualified jobseekers under the Public Employment Service Office program were placed in jobs.
Marcos added that TUPAD has provided emergency employment assistance to 14.04 million beneficiaries since the start of his administration.
