President Marcos launched a new “digital wall against corruption” through the Department of Public Works and Highways Transparency Portal, designed to provide real-time access to public works data and expose irregularities in procurement.
The portal, which contains project information dating back to 2016, aims to address transparency issues highlighted in the recent flood control controversy.
Marcos stressed that corruption thrived because the public and even officials were unable to monitor government activities.
Developed with support from private tech partners and the Philippine Space Agency, the platform is expected to help rebuild public trust.
The Social Security System and PhilHealth will also introduce similar transparency systems.
